Siter:The most common topic of analysis was the effects of the HC on match outcomes (i.e., win, draw, loss, points won, goals average). Some studies suggest that the HCs dismissal has small but positive impacts on a team’s short-term performance, while other findings suggest that little to-no impact is observed following HC departure. The dismissal of the HC does not guarantee increase success of an underperforming team. Some studies suggest that hiring an appropriate coach could positively affect match performance in the short-term. Due to limited variations in study designs, further research is needed before robust conclusions can be drawn.

Siter:A recent research has just shown that coach replacement increases the number of muscle injuries in teams.2 Researchers have recorded the injury incidence and exposure time of the players in competition and in training sessions in two clubs of the Turkish Super League over three consecutive seasons. During that time, the two teams fired 7 and 3 coaches, respectively. Muscle injury incidence was 2.3 times higher (5.3 muscle injuries per 1000 hours of exposure) in the two weeks after the new coach’s arrival. One month later, muscle injury incidence was 4.5 per 1000 hours of exposure, i.e.,1.9 times higher.

Eldre studie fra 2012:
Siter:Professors studied the records of college football teams that replaced a head coach for performance reasons between 1997 and 2010. They found that when a team had been performing particularly poorly, replacing the coach resulted in a small, but short-lived, improvement in performance after a change. The records of mediocre teams -- those that, on average, won about 50 percent of their games in the year prior to replacing a coach -- became worse.

Nyere studie som støtter deg, dog fra bedre ligaer (Spania, Frankrike, England og Italia):
Siter:The main results showed that team’s short-term performance was improved significantly with a change to a new coach with this impact declining in the longer term (> 10 matches). Specifically, the number of points (1.15–1.32 vs. 0.37–1.03, p < 0.05) and the moving average of points (1.19–1.31 vs. 0.37–1.04, p < 0.05) awarded per match were significantly greater after the coaching change.
